Tablelands Regional Council recently opened the new Community Education and Disaster Coordination Centre on Vernon Street, Atherton.
This fantastic new facility provides the communities of the Tablelands with:
- Bookable community meeting space;
- A high quality space for training and education events;
- A facility for Council and public meetings;
- Offices for emergency services agencies, and;
- A regional facility for coordinating disaster prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.

The current, formal title for this building is relatively long and not easy to say or abbreviate. We need something a little more catchy!
We would love to hear your suggestions for a short name for this building. We are looking for something that is short, easy to distinguish, appropriate for public use, and not a person/ person's name. The Hub...The Castle... The Bunker...HQ... perhaps it's something like that?
This is an opportunity for TRC to seek creative ideas from a wider pool. It's not a competition, it's not a public vote, and it's not something to spend too much time on.
